John Deere Precision 140 Tractor Patio Set!

In 1969, John Deere introduced the Customer Color Series of lawn and garden tractors and attachments.  This equipment is often referred to as the "Patio Models".  The "Patio Models" were not painted in the traditional John Deere green but in customer colors.  The tractor was painted in bas Dogwood White, while the seats and hoods were offered in four colors, Patio Red, Sunset Orange, April Yellow, and Spruce Blue.  The attachments were painted in Dogwood White.

"The '140' Hydrostatic Tractor ... there's no other like it, "summed up the 14-horsepower 140 Tractor.  It featured unique hydraulic and braking systems and a hydrostatic ddrive, which eliminated the need for clutch and gave the user extraordinary freedom.  With a single lever, the driver could moe forward or backward, select the speed or brake, all while on the go.  The hydraulics also gave the use a finger tip touch control over most of the equipment on the vehicle.

The Blue Model features a mid-mount mower deck.

The Orange Model features a front snowthrower with tire chains.

The Red Model features a front blade.

The Yellow Model features a rear mounted tiller.
